The Octogone Pledges $8,000
Rene Gadbois

The Club Octogone is a local kids helping kids community service organization for 9-12th graders. Belonging to the Club Optimiste Internationale, the Club Octogone takes part in many community service projects, fundraisers, and other fun activities in support of our community. Recently, our local branch pledged $8,000 over three years in support of the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation. The money pledged is in support of a new Maternal Care Family Room.

From design to equipment, the youth group is dedicated to the betterment of this room while ensuring families and youths alike can enjoy the comforts of a welcoming hospital waiting area. The renovations will include a new sofa, chairs, a plasma television, a new video game console as well as an art table and an accent mural designed by the Club members. Dedicated to their project, these generous youths plan on raising sufficient funds to see this project through by hosting numerous local dances along with their Annual Christmas Gift wrapping project hosted annually at the Cornwall Square.

The organizing committee have already kick started this project by making their first payment of $2000 at the Corus Caring Hearts Radiothon. Our sincerest thank you to these dedicated volunteers and their generous contribution to our cause! We thank you for making a difference.
