The SD & G Cornwall Shrine Club recently held its annual Christmas Party where the following presentation was made by (l-r) Noble Jack McIntosh (Treasurer), Ills Sir Doug Seller (Director),Donation Received by Connie Vardy (Executive Director, Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation), Ills Sir Rory MacLennan (Ball Drop Chairman), Noble Douglas Casselman (President)
Yes! $35,532.52 is the five year total Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation has received from the proceeds of the popular S.D. & G Cornwall Shrine Club Golf Ball Drop. In August these past 5 summers the heavens have opened as a helicopter dropped golf balls from the sky at Summerheights Golf Course. Delighted golfers, onlookers and tickets holders raised their eyes upward in the hopes the helicopter would drop the golf ball with their number on it into the lucky hole on the golf course.
But that is only half of the story. In total the Karnak Shriners raised $71,000. The other half of the funds raised went toward worthwhile causes supported by the Shriners including the Montreal Children’s Shrine Hospital.
CCH Foundation thanks those who purchased tickets and the Shrine organizers of this fun and fantastic event for making our hospital a winner each year. It seems wherever there is a Shriner – there is good.
