The Rotary Club of Cornwall Completes $60K Pledge!

Julie Lampron, Director of Diagnostic Services at Cornwall Community Hospital recently accompanied CCH Foundation Executive Director Connie Vardy to a Rotary Club of Cornwall luncheon. While Julie enlightened the group to information about a new Interventional Ultrasound Room and shared her expertise in MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), Connie accepted their final pledge payment and acknowledged the important role the Club has played in helping to provide these vital services to our community.
As Our Hospital Our Future campaign donors, the Rotary Club of Cornwall recently completed a $60,000 pledge. The Club has chosen, as their naming opportunity, the new Interventional Ultrasound Room. The specialized room, to be constructed as part of the renovation project will bear The Rotary Club of Cornwall's name in honour of their tremendous contribution.
While ultrasound has been around for awhile, interventional ultrasound is a state of the art procedure that uses ultrasound to guide the physician in a minimally invasive procedure to treat or obtain a specimen for diagnosis. Having this remarkable technology at our hospital will go a long way toward the fight against major diseases by facilitating procedures that involve biopsies, aspiration and drainages, thyroid, breasts, liver, prostate and kidneys to name as few. Fortunately, with the support of our service clubs such as The Rotary Club of Cornwall, CCH Foundation is able to assist with patients' needs for this equipment locally.
Because of outstanding community support through the Our Hospital Our Future Campaign, the Foundation transferred $750,000 to the hospital for the purchase of a new Digital Mammography system. This will complement our other diagnostic imaging capabilities such as CT Scanning. These examples of diagnostic imaging represent the fastest growing technology and the most expensive needs all hospitals have right now.
